Bluetooth Speakers

With technology advancing everyday, we have fallen in love with Bluetooth speakers. We can simply play our favorite music from apps, YouTube, or our playlists. Whatever your source of music is, a Bluetooth speaker linked up to a comparable device is a fabulous wireless way to enjoy your music and fill up the room.

This particular one has a FM radio which from a prepper's standpoint, should we have some type of attack or safety alert elevation, the live radio is where you would want to tune to, especially if you are not near a television. I received this one very discounted to review and though I haven't figured everything out (I hate reading instructions) I still can use it as a just a Bluetooth speaker if I do nothing else. It has a clock with an alarm, it is waterproof so you could use it indoors or outdoors, even in the shower!

It's wireless so I only need to plug it in occasionally to recharge. So far, I've only charged it once, and it hasn't needed it since so it's safe to say the battery life is long lasting. It doubles as a MP3 player and also has a hands-free calling mic. Being such basic people, I'll probably be content with just using it as a Bluetooth speaker and perhaps a FM radio should I need it!

Organized Oils

You know I have a new found love for essential oils. I have my diffuser running now with lemongrass, eucalyptus and peppermint to ease my stuffy nose and allergies. When that runs out, I will mix lavender, sweet orange and frankincense as a stress reliever and mood booster as I have an incredibly busy day of harvesting the garden. By the day's end I will have picked, shucked, put up all corn, canned many jars of tomatoes and picked all the beans. I will need that mood booster!

Now I can find what I need quickly without picking up every single bottle. I found this little wooden box with sticker labels. It also came with plastic tubes you can suction up the oils to mix with whatever you want. Obviously I have room for more oils but I highly recommend these boxes to keep everything neat and upright so you don't have leaks or spills. If you were crafty enough, I am not, you just might could make a box similar to this one. Now that my allergies have calmed, I have a garden to harvest!

Light It Up

Being frugal, we are huge fans of solar lighting. I found this light which came with brackets so you can put it anywhere the back panel could receive sunlight. It would make a great addition to your front or back door access to your house as well. We use solar lights for all of our entrances!
This was perfect for our barn doors. We had to carry lights with us if we needed to get something after dark or if we returned from a fun filled night ride using the Atvs.
This light also uses motion sensor to detect movement and then automatically turns on. This is great for us! Should an unwanted predator or prowler come around,  the light will turn on and likely scare them away.

Solar lights are an extremely frugal way to beautify your landscaping as well. We have several garden lights that illuminate our paths at night and highlight our gorgeous flowers and plants. I mean, why spend all that time and money on keeping your yard perfect if you only see it during the day? We like to enjoy ours at night as well!

Pear Fried Pies

What on earth do you do with an overloaded tree when the fruit isn't really ripe enough to eat? When you must remove fruit from a tree because limb breakage is inevitable, you could certainly can the fruit, but I chose to make fried pies!

I'm not one to follow recipes exactly but I did almost follow The Pioneer Woman's Fried Pies dough recipe found here. Like her, I made my own buttermilk as well. I created my own pie filling concoction! Guess who loved it? My biggest critic, the teenage son.

I peeled my pears into the pot but in hindsight I would totally dice these and make them smaller! I began them on low heat and as they started heating up I added about a third cup if brown sugar, a pinch of salt, a dash if vanilla extract and a dash of ginger. After stirring really well I let that cook down some and I added a sprinkle of cinnamon. It took quite a while for my pears to cook down to my liking so I ended up using a potato masher to move things along.

Guess what? They turned out great. I let the fruit cool and rolled out my dough like The Pioneer Woman explained and filled my pies, after the oil had heated, a brief span in the frying pan and confectioners sugar on top. Straight to the freezer for a fall snack!

And though I don't like cooked fruit, I will rest easy knowing that my fresh pears did not go to waste!

Bathroom Remodel

So we have decided to do a bathroom remodel since the house we own is almost ready to celebrate her 100th birthday. There have been a couple of updates over the years but this one is a full gut job and everything new kinda project.

We have spent about $2500.00 buying the tub/shower combo, vanity, counter (for thd vanity), lights, fan, toilet, and medicine cabinet. We are still planning to replace our old water heater as well in the process but our prized possession and most valuable will be the exhaust fan!

Never before has this bathroom had one and we have always fought mildew and mold. No window to help before, we are adding that in too! We also are adding this mildew and mold resistant shower curtain. We hope that helps as well. Nothing looks better than a brand new, mildew free bathroom. When four people share this one highly sought after room, any little bit helps when trying to keep it clean. This especially true when two of the four are mechanics!

Silicone Wedding Bands Review

Believe the hype! Silicone wedding bands are in, and for good reason. I am so blessed to be able to try out products for free (or almost free with steep discounts) and share my experiences with you.

I have seen people wear these for a while now, so when I was offered to try them out I jumped on board quickly, My pack came with 7 different colors because we women need to coordinate our accessories with our clothes, our clothes with eyes, our eyes with make up...and so on.

I was afraid I would sacrifice comfort with the bands of this style but not at all. I don't feel them or notice them on my finger the way I did with a metal band. And what better excuse to get your nails done than being able to change your bands according to your mood or outfits!

These are also available in men's styles. I was able to purchase my exact ring size for the perfect fit you would expect in any ring. I say these will be around for a while.

Mesh SUV Organizer

Organization, I love the idea of it, I just don't possess enough of it. I honestly don't carry a whole lot in my Jeep Grand Cherokee since my kids are older now. I have a chair in the back during softball season, and seat cushion during volleyball season. I also have my large reusable grocery bags that I use weekly to make it easier to carry all of my week's haul in the house.

What so also have is a teenage driver. He is a Senior in high school this year, he loves to ride motorcycles, owns a truck and has recently fixed up an old '91 Jeep Cherokee. He had traded some wood working tools he no longer wanted for it and has brought life back into the old (once a mudding) machine.

He carries a lot of small tools and parts with him in the back hatch. The mesh is no match for bigger tools because of their weight but it works fine for a wrench, a screwdriver and some miscellaneous spark plugs and a can of WD40.

He will be thrilled when I can catch him (you know how teens are, they seem to never be at home) and give him this organizer. He can also put his small fishing box in a pocket as well. Then he won't be distracted by all the tools and parts shifting around in the back every time he drives it. That will ease my mind and help him find what he need more quickly. For the price, I think this is a steal of a deal.

Essential Oils

So is it a fad? Since the essential oils craze has already held strong for years, I had to try and see for myself.  With little knowledge on the subject, I looked to my friends for help. I know many of them have raved about the effects of their choice oils for years so I considered their advice on what oils to use when.

At the time, our two biggest issues was a migraine with the teenage boy and my lack of sleep. So, peppermint in the diffuser first which combined with his usual meds, sent him back outdoors in just two hours. He has never recovered enough for outside, in broad daylight with a severe migraine (vomiting included) in less than six hours before I added the essential oil to his treatment plan. I was impressed. He continued to have a dull headache even into the next day but was functioning well.

But will it help me sleep? I then put lavender in the diffuser just to be selfish for a change and guess who slept all night? That's right, me! I hear that you can put the same oil directly on the bottom of your feet and have the same effect. I have been reading up on the subject and combined with the advice from my friends who I trust with their first hand experiences, you can mix oils and use carrier oils to make all sorts of healing and therapeutic remedies.

My conclusion is that it is not just another fad. I plan to add to my collection as needed and sice I received my oils at a discount to share my opinion, Mooka has agreed to give The Bama Life readers a 40% off code! Here is the link to buy and here is the code: FR3YRJ7O Be sure you select the Mooka 12 ct starter kit regularly priced $18.99 .

Detoxing Foot Pads

Are foot pads really able to rid your body of unwanted toxins? Though I can't say I am convinced that is true, I do believe whatever is in the tea bag like pads, are absorbed inward. I tried these out for a few days to see.

Product link (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BX2SZTM)

I have used a couple of different ones and coincidence or not, I have awakened each day feeling better. Being a morning person anyway, my body seems to have finally caught up with my mind! I don't know that I can commit to using them daily but I will likely use them twice a week for sure!

Though they are usually made with herbs and all natural ingredients, I feel like when I wake I'm full of a good dose of vitamins that have revived me overnight. Who doesn't love a good revival!

The pads as you know go directly on the bottom of your feet. You sleep. You wake and peel to reveal a dark charcoal colored residue where the pad spent the night. A light wash with a damp cloth and it's gone, no problem.

The end result always looks the same no matter which pad you choose and my belief is that it's a result of what's going in not out. But I could be wrong it just seems like it would have to change the pad color with what is going in just as you would assume it changes with whatever is going out. Either way, I'm a fan. They did make me feel better so I plan to keep these on hand!

Bargain Essential Oils Diffuser

The reason people write and maintain blogs isn't just to share the information, sometimes it's about learning something new before you begin. Essential oils have been around for years. I hear my friends swear by them but until recently I had no real background of knowledge other than testimonials of what had been shared with me.

I have a box set of oils and when I was presented with an opportunity to purchase an oil diffuser (80% off for sharing #ad) I decided to try! I mean how hard can it be, water and a few drops of oil, that is it right?

An impromptu migraine from my son sent me on high alert. He has suffered from these for years and other than loading up on some over the counter pain meds and climbing into a dark cool cave of a bedroom and sleeping it off, I had no other ideas. I decided to get out the oils and diffuser and see if that would pull the boy from his misery.

Advised by my friends, I placed peppermint in the water of the diffuser, gave him his meds and he crawled under a pillow in fetal position and rested. After only two hours he was back outside. Still hurting and even hurt the next morning before work but for you migraine sufferers you know that is amazing to have enough relief to outside. He usually gets very sick and he did begin this migraine with vomiting as usual so I can't tell you how amazed we are!

What I like about the #NatrogixDiffuser is that it not only diffused the oil into the air, it has a light setting also if you choose to add a night light option. It changes color if you want that setting and it will warn you when diffuser empties with a red light on the bottom base.  My only complaint about this diffuser is that for me and my arthritic hands, it is hard to twist and pull the base off. This base is thin and not much to grab on to but other than that I am very pleased!

I have used this diffuser everyday now for various things depending on what oils I want to use. Last night I slept soundly with lavender diffusing in the bachground. I am thankful I finally opened my mind to the idea that this may not be a fad and it may actually work. I like it when something I love to do like writing and blogging becomes an incredible learning experience!

Mini Chalkboards

Aren't these the coolest? I did not mind paying a little out of pocket for these because of their cuteness and besides, I can use them at the office. What are you supposed to use them for? According to their description they are for events like showers, weddings, parties, etc.  But I know some clever moms have their eyes on them for party favors, car toys, homework, games, etc. I'm certain some teachers could figure out a way to use them in a classroom as well.

They are safe, non painted, smooth edged and come with a little base to keep them propped. The board is big enough to use for a math problem or write a full sentence on depending on your style of penmanship. If you are crafty I'm certain you could dress these up a bit with some ribbon and glue.

I have no need to keep them all so I am giving away 16 of these boards on The Bama Life fan page on Facebook. All you have to do is like the original post announcing the giveaway! The winner will be announced Saturday morning.

Ominilight Laser Light

We are super excited about being able to have our own laser light show this Christmas! What a bargain at less than $30 for this particular one (I received very discounted in exchange for my honest review and sharing).

You can change the settings using a remote control which I like. Mine uses only green and red lights which is a little disappointing since I was hoping be able to use it for more than just Christmas although it was advertised as a Christmas light so I should have known. I guess too much wishful thinking on my end but I would have loved an array of colors to use for birthdays and other events!

I am going to use it tonight since it is Independence Day using only the red light. It has a few options on the type of flash you want and there happens to be one that looks like fireworks! You could use red for Valentine's Day and maybe green for St. Patrick's Day. The show looks great with both colors on so we are looking forward to the Christmas settings.

I am going to enjoy these lights and so will my neighbors as they pass by.  I found these on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075R6K7Z2) so now you can check them out!

Tummy Control Yoga Pants

I have often said that I wish I could wear yoga pants to work, but being that I work in a busy high school office, my superiors would frown up that. But one of the first things I do when I get home from the office is take off the dress pants or skirt and put a pair on!

I purchased this pair at a steep discount to give them a try and share my product review and since they said tummy control, I couldn't wait for them to come in. I was slightly disappointed when they did arrive because the XL didn't fit me comfortably so I had to give them to my teenage daughter. I could have kept them and let them stretch across my thighs and waist but they just look better on her. Sometimes, you just have to admit when something isn't for you. But when I lose those 20 pounds I keep saying I'm going to lose, I just might take them back!

She scored big though and other than the crotch being a little long for her, she loves them. She is tall and athletic and they fit her build nicely. She also is a big fan of yoga pants and wears them at home and even to school sometimes where she can get away with it even though I can't.

I would recommend these but I would just order a size up from what you normally wear. You can find these here (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BLT58BJ).

Soft and Cozy

Who doesn't love soft and cozy? Those two words go together like peanut butter and jelly am I right? Well, these socks fit the bill for sure. I received them free for my honest review and my daughter and I love them, honestly!

When we first received them, we dove right in and both of us felt a string or strand around the toe area so we had to maneuver around that but once we washed them, we have been wearing them ever since with no strings blocking our access inside.

We have had a lot of rainy days here in Alabama over the last few days so you can imagine how many times we have worn these lounging around watching movies or watching the clouds from the front porch. We do recommend these and they can be found here ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078BBL2F7 )
and although we did receive them for free, you will find these are very affordable at full price. My daughter even wears them with her sliders as you can see. This time of year I generally wear flip flops only but I love sleeping in these soft socks! Keeping my feet covered at night is a must for me.

Gone Fishing

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day but teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.

That is such a true statement! Living in the country we are blessed to have access to many waterways here in rural Alabama from creeks to ponds to larger lakes, and let's not forget the Gulf Coast. My teenage son has been an angler at heart for many years and has become quite good at it. I have full confidence he could provide dinner should we need him to.
Find it here

I recently received this lure in exchange for my honest opinion. My fisherman really likes it. The hooks are nice and strong (and sharp) so if the fish are biting, you are bound to catch one! You can use the hooks at the same time or keep one as a replacement. We didn't see it necessary to put both on nor did it come assembled as using both so we are keeping the hook as an extra. You can find the lure at the link in the caption, or here, (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079Q48L4X) and we see thus one as a bargain considering how many fish you can catch! So grab those rods and reels and catch yourself some dinner.
